Hyatt Newport Back Bay Golf Course is a 9-hole pitch & putt public golf course located in Newport Beach, California.
Back Bay Golf Course opened for play in 1965.
If you can enjoy golf with just your with a putter and wedge, this is the perfect course for you. The conditions are first class and the views match. This is Newport Beach and with views of the multi-million dollar yachts in the harbor and green conditions that most regulation courses would envy.
The longest hole at this first class pitch & putt measures just 100 yards. Six of the nine come in at 70 yards or less. The whole nine is 645 yards total.
This hilly pitch & putt course overlooks the scenic Back Bay. Large palm trees come into play, but there is no water on the course. The greens are large and sloping. A tough hole is #8, a 75-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off the top of a hill down to a large green.
I could fit the course in my back yard, but who would maintain it and without the views and Newport weather...it would lose too much in the translation.
